Make Stuff Fast:

Rapid Prototyping for Interactive Experiences

You have amazing ideas rattling around in your brain, and your players are dying to experience them – but there’s this pesky gap called “reality” standing in the way. Join Lyra as she shows you how to transform your wildest concepts into tangible, touchable, puzzle-solvable objects using modern rapid prototyping tools and a healthy dose of creative chaos. We’ll race through computer-aided design, laser cutting, 3D printing, finishing techniques, and the ancient art of knowing when to do less. Warning: side effects may include an uncontrollable urge to hoard tools, use acronyms, and get messy.

Lyra Levin is a performer and producer of immersive experiences that lower barriers to empathy.

In her work, participants find agency in a blend of fantasy and reality. Whether she’s bridging between entertainment and civic engagement (Democracy & Dragons, Civic Salon), cultivating creative ecosystems where hundreds of artists find their voices (Enemies of Time, Dovetail), or building architectural marvels for international audiences (The Attraction, Sonic Sphere, Megabots), Lyra uses her diverse backgrounds in circus, immersive theatre, and mechanical engineering to execute ambitious visions.

Worlds with consequences are ones in which our actions matter; Lyra invites others to those worlds, in every medium and language.
